The things we do for our art - standing on a roof

We are both dog-tired and off to bed very shortly. We were up at 6am and down at Mt Barker swimming pool in Western Australia by 7.00am.
The event was supremely well-organised. We walked up and down the pool and took photos of the swimmers until 5.00pm. A whistle was blown as soon as a race finished at one end and the next began immediately. There were no breaks at all so we didn’t get much chance to sit down.
Two hundred and fifty events were pushed through in the time. Tomorrow will be more of the same. We will be even more exhausted.
Photos of people swimming look much alike but I’ll put some up another day. This one is of Vince on the roof of the swimming pool kiosk getting some good shots of the parade that was held at the beginning of the meet. I flattened two batteries and took over 1,000 photos but have already deleted some 300. Taking shots of swimmers in the water is really difficult. If the photo didn’t show a face, then it was deleted. I am hoping I can get better photos tomorrow but I won’t be holding my breath.

For 20 years I ran big swim meets like that, and I can tell you I don't miss it one bit now that I have retired from my government position. I do, however, miss the beautiful ladies in their bathing suits!

@DaddyEvil That’s what working at swimming pools for 20 years will do to a person!

250 events!! That is a very big number. Is it some national level event?
I can imagine you being ultra busy with point and shoot, point and shoot and over and over again!

I know it's difficult to get good photos of people in the water. I'm sure you and Vince have some good ones and look forward to seeing some of them when you're feeling rested after the meet.

Don’t you have drones so Vince would not have to be on the roof to take shots?

You wouldn't be allowed to use drones there. We have all sorts of rules about drones and how high up they have to be above crowds etc. He was only up there for about a hour trying to get photos of the parade.

@JudyEv Ah okay. Yes, I understand that there are rules on the use of drones.
