I Gave Up A Quarter

I often talk about a place here that is owned by Kroger that is similar to Aldi in that it is a smaller store that you have to put a quarter in to get a cart.
I was headed for the door when a woman approached me and asked if I wanted her cart.
I offered her a quarter but she said to forget it. Woohoo. I am already up 25 cents.
I did my shopping, and while my wife was loading the bags in the parking lot (since they still discourage inside bagging due to Covid), I spotted a cart sitting close to my truck.
I took that cart in while my wife was bagging and cashed in my quarter, only to find a loose cart in the cart corral. Woohoo! 50 cents gained.
As I started to take MY cart back, an old black man approached me. He offered me the 25 cents, and I figured I was up 50 cents. Just let him keep the quarter.
It is unlike me to do that and even my wife was impressed. Hmm. Maybe giving back that quarter will get me laid tonight?

My aunt Viola was always like that. She was a multi-millionaire thanks to her husband Archie who owned Meinerz Creamery who was eventually bought out by then Beatrice Foods, and he became a member of their board and owned many other businesses.
She'd try to talk down a nickel at a garage sale. lol

@JimBo452020 People don't get rich by giving their money away you know. In fact, I read a statistic once that said "those most likely to toss their pennies onto the ground are poor people." Imagine that. Explains a few things.
