Hi guys, Hope you all are doing good. I am doing good too. Nowadays, since a long time we all have seen that there is spread of lot of negativity on internet too because of which it has become a toxic place. There is good news for Indians as our Information Technology Ministry has issued new Guidelines under Information Technology Act 2000 for OTT Platforms and social media in India. The guildlines issued mainly focuses on two things. Firstly, the Ethical Code of Conduct and another is setting up of Grievance Redressal System. The Ethical Code of Conduct will include specifying the content under Classified Age Categories namely U stands for Universal, U/A7+, U/A13+, U/A16+ and A for Adults. Also the parental locks facility can be done on the content. The other important thing is to set up Grievance Redressal System for monitoring the content and for users to file complaint against objectionable/ obscene content. The content showing women in bad light will also be removed from the platform within 24 hours. The Grievance Redressal System will include a Public Nodal officer and in important cases where justice isn't given then it will be forwarded to retired Supreme Court judge appointed as Grievance Redressal Officer. The other social media platforms will also be under watch like Watsapp, Facebook, Instagram, Telegraph etc. Any fake, obscene content will have to be removed and it will get supervised under Press Counsil of India which has laws for Publishing print media. It will also cover Digital Media. I feel this rules are so important because unfortunately internet has become toxic place where some people are doing unnecessary trolling or forwarding fake/obscene content. I think this laws will protect children from getting wrong exposure and I feel internet will become a better place once again. Do share your thoughts about it. Have a good day. Take care.

It is a shame that people use the internet for bad rather than good.
