In Mint Condition of Historical Structures

I am reading an article that some urban developers want to relocate historical structures to other places. According to them, it is the best way to preserve them from being damaged with the continued building of skyscrapers. I cannot get it. If we are going to move them, they will lose the cultural history. Is it the best way to preserve historical structures by relocating? Do you know any historical structures being relocated? Well if the structure is already being overshadowed by larger structures then I guess it is time for them to be placed where they can be reconstructed to their original state before those modern structures would swallow them up. I think there is a place here somewhere in Bataan where the old houses were brought there and placed there like they were in the olden days. It is now a tourist destination it is like a museum of old houses in the Philippines. I know they were the original houses that were brought there to be preserved in that condition.

@Shavkat Yes that resort is filled with old houses from the Spanish era. They use the old houses as a place to stay in if visitors would like to stay in the place.

@rsa101 I am sure it is a must-see in Bataan. With this pandemic, it will take time for tourists to flock to this place.

If the situation happened, there are no other choices but to move them. The only concern is the genuine history itself will be gone forever. I am interested to visit Bataan to see them for myself.

I don't know why it would lose cultural history. The building is the same.

In my humble way of saying this, the historical structure itself will not lose cultural history. If they move it, it will change the history where it took place.

@just4him It is just my opinion. The original place is also important of these historical places.

@Shavkat How? I seriously don't understand why it would change the history of where it took place. They are only moving the building. The history of the location remains the same.

I am imagining if they are going to move the Great Wall of China to another place.

@Shavkat It's not the first building that has been relocated in the United States, for what I know there were other 8 in the past.

@JudyEv You have a point. They need to have more profits outs of these skyscrapers.

@Shavkat Maybe they need the land for more highrise buildings which would bring in more money,

I don't understand. What does it matter where the building is located? It will still be the historical building, no matter where it stands.

I agree. I hope the preservationists will consider this matter. I find it weird if they do move them to another place.

That's the big issue if they do this. The origin of a particular structure will be lost real history of it.
