Day 207 Promise 672 Hebrews 9:11 But Christ being come a High Priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; 12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. 13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies to the purifying of the flesh: 14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? 15 And for this cause, he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. Life is full of shortcomings. We do everything we can to do what seems right and good, yet come up short in the execution. God gave Moses the plan for the tabernacle, gave him the laws they needed to obey, and gave them a plan to sanctify the people of their sins once a year. However, as good as the plan was, it wasn’t perfect. However, it was a representation of God’s perfect plan. The writer to the Hebrews told them Jesus was God’s perfect plan. His body was the tabernacle not made with hands, and His blood was the perfect sacrifice for sins because He only needed to offer His body as their sacrifice once for them to be clean from sin and dead works. Jesus’ sacrifice redeemed them from the law of death and gave them a mediator between God and man, so they could receive eternal life. As Christians, the moment you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord, you knew the power of redemption through Jesus’ blood. You knew you could go to Jesus whenever Satan came against you. You knew nothing you could do by yourself would gain you salvation. Whenever you do something on your own to gain eternal life, you come up short. Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; 7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. (KJV) Whenever you put your trust and hope in Jesus Christ, you win. He paid the price for your salvation. He faced Satan and defeated him on the cross. His blood is your victory, your salvation. Nothing you can do will ever come close to what Jesus did for you. Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. (KJV) Let God work through you. When you do, you will never come up short. Let’s pray: Father, help me put everything I do in Your hands. By myself, I can’t do anything. With You, I can do all things. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
