Day 208 Promise 673 Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: 28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them who look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. Sometimes you do something, see something, say something, or read something that is life-changing. You go through life with certain expectations, and then you hit a bump in the journey and you realize you’re in the middle of the best journey of your life. You could be in the middle of a disaster. Life has you on your back. You think you’re broken. And then you realize you are right where you needed to be all along. Nothing could prepare you for the moment. The writer to the Hebrews told them what they already knew, they would die and face God’s judgment. Then he told them an amazing truth. Jesus died for their sins and he would come again without sin for their salvation. As Christians, you go through your daily lives. You believe the gospel. You read your Bible. You pray. And then one day, you read what you already know, but it suddenly jumps out at you and gives you a jump-start on life-eternal life. Are you ready to have your life jump-started? Read the Scripture again and meditate on God’s promise of eternal life. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for Your Word that dives deep into my soul and shows me Your love. Let me see something new in Your Word every day that brings me closer to You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 7 March 2021 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay

Yes, sometimes I read what I already know. Sometimes I think I have done that and this and that I have made a wise decision.

That is why I love reading the bible, each time the same scripture can bring something new to my heart and mind that I hadn't seen before. My pastor likes to say that is why the bible is living, because it causes those who take the time to read it to grow. Hope you have a good service at church today. Have a blessed day

Oftentimes we only see and hear the words of God. We walk to the church unattached to the true meaning of being in a flock. We keep on sinning and it is so shameful that we knew Jesus saved us from our sins and still we keep on sinning, doing things unacceptable to the eyes of our Creator. We are putting Jesus again and again in carrying the heavy load of our continuously committing sins.
