Tinker has been on a walkabout, I guess

We had not seen Tinker in about 36 hours. We looked in all of his usual places and I had my jacket on, preparing to go unlock the shed, just in case he got locked in. I hope my Aussie friends let me know if I have used "walkabout" correctly. I intended it to mean he has gone a-wandering just to show he could.
The spring thunderstorms arrived about thirty minutes ago, and who should be on my front porch when I opened the door to go out. . . ? Mickey, and Tinker. Both definitely wanted in.
The big boys are a bit annoyed at the clingy younger kitties being everywhere and since they are allowed outdoors, that is where they want to be a lot. But not in the middle of the thunderstorms.
Tinker is busy chowing down on kitty kibble. I hope he goes in and finds Bob and takes a nap. It would be a nice present for hubby. We hate it when the guys go missing. We had checked the open field last evening in case he was injured or dead out there.
My house has become somewhat fur lined. I am going to check in about spaying and neutering this week. I do not want kittens. Angel wants to visit me when I am in the bathroom. Lady and Bibsy want to keep me company on computer. Mickey and Tink like our bedroom if they are inside.
Today is the last day before Spring Break. My Hillsboro bus kids do not have school today, so I do not have to leave so early. I do have to take my car into town, though.
I have not driven our newest car in the rain, so I will want to leave early enough to find the windshield wipers.

I would say he'd "gone walkies". Glad to hear he's come back.
And, aren't windshield wipers usually tucked in at the bottom of the windshield?

Indeed that is where the wipers are, but the button for them is off to the left on a handle thingy.

@GardenGerty Then, I guess, what you need to find is that button...

Tinker and MIckey are neutered males and there is lots of wildlife in our neighborhood, as well as other stray cats, so I get concerned. I would not want a coyote to get him.

He loves to explore. He did come back when it was raining.

Glad he came back home. My understanding of the word walkabout is the same as yours

This worked out okay, and I believe we have the headlights on automatic so that is nice.

@GardenGerty Our car is like that and they turn off themselves if you forget to which is great too.

Yes, me too. Tinker is large enough that it would be unlikely a hawk would carry him away.

If it were not for the spring thunderstorms, they would still be on a walkabout. You have so many furry friends.

Yes, quite a few. I will take good care of them and they will keep me company. They certainly make sure I do not have mice.

Yes, thank goodness. I know he is annoyed at not being the baby anymore plus it has been beautiful weather. He should not scare me though.

We usually call him in about dark and he comes. Neutered animals are supposed to wander less but we have just gotten too many kitties competing for attention and then the weather turned really nice.

Ah yes thunderstorms bring back your boys. Buttons hated them. Always hid behind Mikes chair or with Mike or me under a blanket. Ginger doesn't seem to be as afraid of them unless they are loud, then she runs and hides under the bed or behind the couch.
Have a blessed day.

Mostly I think Tinker did not want to be wet. He went outside when I got home.
