Reading newspapers is depressing.

I know that there has been a lot of bad news recently what with one thing and another, but I am starting to think that reading newspapers can be a very depressing activity. In the past I used to enjoy reading the paper because we always seemed to get a good mix of news both good and bad. Nowadays I think the press like to focus on the negative side of things and they seem to concentrate on all the bad things that are going on. They also give me the impression that the way they word their articles they are trying to turn people against each other. Maybe by doing this they are able to sell more papers.

Newspapers certainly aren't what they used to be. Not nearly as entertaining as they once were.

I stopped reading newspapers and watching the news. I only catch it every now and then. It gets on my nerves and it is depressing.

@lazydaizee Yeah. Every time I turn it on, they keep repeating stuff from months ago.

@stephcjh They do repeat things and it is annoying because we want to know what is going on now.

I did stop watching the news until recently, but now I keep up with news about the pandemic.

Maybe you are better off not reading them if your papers are anything as bad as ours.

Try also reading inspirational columns or good novels. Try reading good vibes stories or good news instead.

Maybe I should only look out for the happier stories and leave the depressing ones unread.

That’s interesting. What are some of the names of inspirational news columns?

Personally, I think that Newspapers and the news are extremely depressing, because it’s usually negative. Hopefully, newspapers and the news become more positive.

We can only hope that things start to improve so that the news will get better.
