Well, as winter is finally subsiding for many of us in many parts of the country I am paying a tribute with a "countdown of music trivia tunes" with a stormy weather theme. Whether its tune titles about hurricanes, thunderstorms, or cold temperatures, there's one thing these songs will all have in common, they will encourage you to stay indoors. So let's take a look at today's stormy weather tunes as we wait for that warm weather ahead... With the clocks now turned ahead and the beginning of spring near we will say goodbye with these "chilly, snowy," winter songs. And taking us into this "Winter Wonderland" one last time is The Moody Blues with a tune titled "A Winter's Tale." Not only a terrific song but an equally terrific video! A must watch filled with imagery capturing the feel of the winter season Enjoy the moment one more time for you will be complaining about the heat soon enough, Now onto some more songs which have a "frosty" feel to them... (Remember words in quotations can provide hints to the music trivia answers) It's time for your artist and song clues- Whodunnit? 1. This female Canadian songstress was the first solo singer from her country to land a #1 song on the U.S. Easy Listening charts. Her albums consisting primarily of pop, country, and adult contemporary music have sold over 55 million copies worldwide during her 40-year career. Two of her most popular songs are "You Needed Me," #1 on the Hot 100 charts, and today's winter-themed "snow song." The song's title "is the same a s a person who travels to a southern state from the north to escape the winter season." But I think the artist was really describing "the nickname for a flying creature called the Dark-eyed Junco." This artist released her final Christmas album, her 7th one, in 2008 retiring from the music business upon it's completion. -Do you know this female Canadian singer and her famous song with the winter sounding title? 2. These "four guys" finally had another hit with this song in 1975 after dominating the charts from 1962-68. One of a few American music groups along with the Beach Boys to rival the popularity of the British bands in the 60's. This #1 song does not have a stormy weather term in it's title, but does have a "winter theme." Part of the title is a "month and year," the month being the "same one Santa Claus celebrates." In the lyrics the event happened in "1963", the guy making love for the first time, which becomes a "night" he will never forget. When this group changed their name from the "Four Lovers" it provided a boost to their careers. In 1962, they signed with Vee Jay Records and had a string of hits, including "Sherry," "Walk Like A Man" and "Big Girls Don't Cry." -Do you know who these "Jersey Boys" are and the name of their wintery titled song? 3. This 1960's song was recorded by a "duo from Queens, New York," contains the word "winter" in the title. In this song, the singer seems to be lamenting how he was looking for something (or someone) perfect, but never found it, and now time is running out on his dreams. The lyrics uses the change of season from fall to winter to describe his feelings, using the words "Look around, leaves are brown, There's a patch of snow on the ground," and the "sky is hazy." These artists got a big career boost when some of their songs including the popular "Mrs. Robinson" was used in the movie "The Graduate." Some of their other biggest hits include "The Sound of Silence" (1965), and "Bridge over Troubled Water" (1970), both reaching number one on singles Hot 100 charts. Do you know the name of this popular 60's duo and the title of their winter song? 4. This stormy weather Christmas song was made popular by the actor known as "The Singing Cowboy." He was an American singer, songwriter, actor, musician, and rodeo performer who gained fame largely by singing in a crooning style on radio, in films, and TV. His signature song, "Back in the Saddle Again," and horse "Champion," were part of the many "Cowboy Western films" he made. In a magazine poll readers rated him as the top money making Western Star from 1936-1942. This artist not only popularized today's holiday song but others like "Here Comes Santa Claus" and "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer." Here are some additional clues to help you solve this "kids holiday" song: A popular wintertime kids activity is "rolling snow into giant balls" and stacking them to create a "man." Many children often add "scarfs, buttons for eyes and even a corn cob pipe," and then "name" their creations, and that's just what the writer did with this tune. Second title clue: This "weather condition" usually occurs from long exposure to "freezing weather." Many times I have found my "windows covered" with this stuff. Do you know this famous cowboy entertainer and the title of his winter Christmas song? Ok, "don't catch cold" trying to solve these song and artist answers. Remember, a stormy or winter theme is part of the song title. If your stuck and need additional hints just let me know in your response. Or as Dionne Warwick might say in song, "That What Friends Are For." Hope you enjoyed this double version of my music trivia quiz... Thanks for reading and responding to my music post!!! The title of your discussion seems to say it all. It is kind of how I feel. Today is one of those kind of drab days. Clouds, rain and wind. Not my ideal kind of day.

1. Of course, I should know this one. The Snowbird by Anne Murray! 2. The Four Seasons with December 63 (Oh What A Night). 3. Simon and Garfunkel with A Hazy Shade Of Winter. 4. I think the cowboy is Roy Rogers and from your great clues it sounds like it has to be Frosty The Snowman?

@dgobucks226 My first guess was Gene Autry but I got mixed up on the horses. I think Roy's horse was named Trigger and not Champion.
