...two-hour exam today. Hopefully, I nailed them. Regardless, I am still rethinking this job since I was informed that it is an office-based proofreader or editor. I prefer to work at home than being in this company. Either passing it or not, I will not be going to indulge myself to have this opportunity. Are you more on working at home than traveling to a company's office and work? Image Credit: crn.com

I am office-based since the nature of my work requires me more to be at the office since records are there and I could not just easily bring records back home to process them. During the lockdown, we were forced to bring our jobs at home but eventually, it was really hard to do since people are scattered when trying to seek their approval so our boss decided that we resume office again to easily process transactions once again. Most of our employees are staying at home still but our department is the only one in the office.

@Shavkat Working at Home is what is the most practical thing to do with the pandemic going on. It makes you stay indoors and yet you still are able to earn. Your health safety is one of the advantages of being able to work at home. How I wish I could do that too. If you happen to pass this exam are you willing to work on-site and in the office?

I can understand your situation. I will be doing it if still working offline. Early this year, I was planning to find a job with an NGO. The twist of fate happened because of this pandemic.

Since I started to work online a few years back, there is no regret of being at home. I was scrutinized and demoralized. Now, what makes them whining? They are whining that they lost their jobs because of this pandemic.

I appreciate your determination about working from the home! Since I am a Equine Veterinry doctor I stay on the farm and I need not travel a lot to work as I am staying with my 250 -350 horses on the farm all the 24 hours!

I think it is a good thing because you are practicing your profession. I am sure you are working with a team in the farmland, right? My main goal is to hunt a sideline job online since I have a full-time job and work at home.

When HR told me about it, I suddenly felt deceived. I read that it is a home-based job.

The excitement of going to an office to work everyday is greater than the convenience of working at home. It is also nice to be able to interact and build bonds with fellow workers in the office. rather than be on my own at home.

I had worked with my previous jobs and did enjoy working with them. Now, I prefer working at home especially now. Personally, I am advising fresh graduates to work offline than online to practice their professions.

@Shavkat same sentiment. I'm thankful for my job and the salary it gives but not at the expense of my mental health and peace of mind that is why I'm applying already in other companies so I can move on from here. Of course, a big consideration would be if the job is work from home or not.

I still felt blessed to work at home with my full-time job as a virtual teacher. I just want to have an extra income and earn it online and not to work in a company physically.

You have not realised what you have learnt by finishing that exam. Whether you take that job or not I think you have benefited from that exam.

I agree. It is not a good idea to work in an office at this point. When I was asked about willing to work from 8 AM to 5 PM in their company, I made a white lie that I fine with it. The mere fact, I am not in favor of this opportunity.
