Day 225
Promise 690
1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fades not away, reserved in heaven for you,
5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Everyone needs hope. It’s what keeps us going from day to day.
Peter told the people their hope was in the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the inheritance He reserved in heaven for them.
As Christians, this is our hope too. Through Jesus’ shed blood on Calvary, we have an inheritance reserved in heaven. Our inheritance will never fade. God will not rescind on His promise of eternal life to all those who put their hope and faith in Jesus Christ, His Son.
Jesus’ resurrection is your guarantee of eternal life. When you accepted the finished work of the cross, God reserved a place in heaven for you. God’s mercy and grace covers your sin, so you can stand in His presence before His throne. Let your praise for His mercy fill the heavens as you rejoice in your salvation.
Let’s pray: Father, thank you for reserving a place for me in heaven. Remind me daily of the finished work of the cross and Your guarantee of eternal life that will never diminish as I place my hope and trust in You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
