Skynet Is Watching

Skynet is the artificial intelligence system in the Terminator movies. It was meant to control all of the defense systems including the nuclear arsenal of the United States. Soon after it was activated, it gained self-awareness. The military tried to shut down Skynet and Skynet saw this as threat and then it launched a nuclear strike at key cities around the world. Eventually, Skynet saw all humans as a threat and started hunting down humans.
With all the technological advancement we see in our world today and knowing human folly, it seems that what happened in the movies can happen as well in reality. Of course, that is a scary thought, I doubt if we'd have our very own terminator to protect us.
Do you ever thought that what happened in the movies can happen in real life?

It's always a possibility, but I hope that one isn't going to be a predictor of the future. People experimenting with AI technology always give me pause.... I hope they don't screw it up!

People don't have the common sense to know when to stop messing around.

@DaddyEvil I don't understand why some people think they are gods who can lord over technology.

@allen0187 The biggest problem with modern technology is that people can't make it hacker proof. I don't understand why some people think new tech is a challenge to them.

Honestly, I don't have time to worry about this with all the real things I have to worry about.

What if it is possible right? But for me it is just an imagination.

If it was possible, we need to start the resistance as soon as now.

If course but mostly as tender for the imagination. My husband refuses to get a unit like an alexa because he thinks they'll be listening in on all our conversations but I hope to get one soon.

True and it is the bad ones that happen in real life.

Of course. The maxim has reversed. 'Art is an imitation of life' has become 'life is an imitation of art.' The world's current Hunger Games is definitely Orwell's 1984.

To be honest, what ends up happening in real life tends to be WAY crazier than anything people dream up for movies. I mean, who could have predicted that a sitting president of the United States would summon a mob that smashed its way into the Capitol building while Congress was in session? It's absolutely nuts.
