Day 227 Promise 692 1 Peter 1:17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judges according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear: 18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, 21 Who by him do believe in God, who raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. It’s hard for some people to accept their life can be better than they’re used to. They’re used to being passed over or treated with disrespect. People judge on appearance and not on ability. Peter told believers God wasn’t like those who judged them on what they saw. Instead, God judged them on their work for Him. Therefore, they were to live in reverence and hope. God redeemed them from their former lifestyle, not at the moment of their salvation, but at the foundation of the world. God manifested Jesus’ death and resurrection for them so they would know the love He had for them and give them hope and faith in Him. As Christians, your faith and hope don’t depend on who you were before you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord. It depends on your acceptance of what Jesus did for you before God created the world. Your faith and hope are in the finished work of the cross. When you accept God’s love for you no matter what your previous lifestyle before you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord, you will know joy unspeakable and full of glory. Isn’t that something to shout about and give God praise? Let’s pray: Father, thank you for sending Jesus to redeem me from my former lifestyle and show me how much You love me. Help me see me through Your eyes and accept Your love for me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 26 March 2021 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay

Thank you very much for that. I became a Christian when I was 8. I've gone to church nearly so my life, but I remember the day I gave my life to Jesus like it was yesterday.
