Not Here ~ It’s our Passover Holiday

Just stopping by for a quick hello. It’s our the first night of our 8 day holiday of Passover. I’ve been cooking for days and making many vegetarian dishes for our son and his girlfriend. We took a hike today, so I’m so glad I’ve been cooking and have only had to heat things up. We had a beautiful sunny day, so ate our special dinner on our deck. The kids are washing the dishes and pots, but I have to run to serve dessert now. Hope you all had a wonderful day!

Enjoy your holiday and I'm like @xFiacre, what's for dessert? Hubby and I were just discussing chocolate cake or lemon squares? Toss up, but I think lemon squares may win out because of less time in the oven. We had a high of 84 and the house is a bit warm but not turning the AC on yet! Rain is coming so it will cool off.

@DianneN Super delicious!! I was wrong on the lemon squares vs. the chocolate cake so I ended up making the cake. Hubby usually makes the lemon squares so he will be on duty this coming week!

Thanks! I made a chocolate torte, apple cake, and coconut macaroons. My son and his girlfriend made chocolate covered strawberries. Way too much!

My son and his girlfriend made chocolate covered strawberries. I made an apple cake, chocolate torte, and coconut macaroons. We sent the kids home with more than half. I made wayyyyyy too much of everything.

Thanks so much. Too bad we couldn’t have the rest of the family, but my younger son filled in as our youngest and so did his non-Jewish girlfriend. It was her first Seder ever.

We do it a bit differently these days without the entire family. We include a Seder plate, read the four questions, hide matzo, and only eat unleavened products.
