Portion Control or Low Carb

Turns out portion control works better. I eat less, I think I'm starting to lose weight.
I was going low carb for awhile and read up on the ketosis thing and the body using fat because it can't use carbs. But I would not eat carbs but instead eat more food. So instead now I just limit my intake to a reasonable amount.
Somebody, namely my girlfriend, doesn't really believe in the low carb ketosis thing. She's most likely right but don't quote me.

I have lost pounds by eating smaller portions.

The one mistake I made regarding diet was that One Meal A Day diet.
When I would finally get to eat, I over ate, and yes I lost weight, but the shock of too many carbs to my body, gave me border line diabetes. I also need to get checked..who knows if I have it now. Something is not right.
So in that way, your girlfriend may be correct.
I believe they are all fad diets, and only reducing how much you eat and exercise does it.
Good luck.
Oh I also put all the weight I lost back on.

I am a carb lover. People disagree with me and say protein is needed for energy. I believe carbs are needed for energy. I agree with you about portion control!

I think portion control is easier to handle than keeping a strict diet. Good luck !
