Noisy Day ~ New Deck Being Installed

The deck we have now has lasted since 2008. But it is time for a new one.
This photo also shows the dairy farm in the distance. It is gone now and all new homes are there.
Funny, the photo above was right after the first deck in 2008, with Momma Kitty. She was Dustin's cat that lived 24 years. Lost her in 2011.
Today is a headphone kind of day with music. Lots of noise out there. But they will be finished tomorrow.
Looking for decoration ideas for the new privacy fence. I have a few butterflies picked out already..

I love the fence you have there. Did you change it totally?

Momma Kitty lived a long loved life. It is interesting to look back to see how things have changed through the years. Happy you are getting a new deck. Maybe you can find some type of flower holders to put on the privacy fence. Here is a link with some ideas.

After all the rain you’ve had will it be a deck or a boat launch?

Good luck with the new deck. Mine needs a few boards replaced and staining. Hopefully this will get us through before we have to think about a replacement.

@CarolDM my house was new construction when I bought it and everyone got a wood deck. I don't know why they didn't do trek (spelling?) which would last a lifetime. I'm sure the cost would have been easily absorbed in the price of the house.

@Marilynda1225 That does cost a lot more. Worth it in the end. But we were happy this one lasted almost 14 years.

I used to buy ceramic/pottery/whatever animals in Cozumel to hang on our fence at the house each year when we went. I had quite a collection after 11 visits. I left them there as I obviously have no house or fence now but I'm sure I will get them back when I finally buy one.

Hmm..
Is the privacy fence made out of wood or metal?
Are you looking to DIY or purchase ready made things?

@CarolDM Ah I see. Hmm.. What about some sort of solar light? Maybe you could find some solar light butterflies. Maybe a nice wreath you could exchange every season?

@ScribbledAdNauseum Those are good ideas. I had solar lights on the steps. Thanks.

I remember the last deck construction that we underwent.
I was there when the workers arrived in the morning, and then left for a bit because of the loud noise.
Will you stain your fence?
Sometimes that is decoration enough if you have some pretty shrubs in front of it here and there to enhance the area.

The deck in the picture looks nice. We had one out in the same year after my husband lost his leg. Ours needs to be redone too but that's last on our list plus it might be hard to disassemble because the guy that built it used the wrong type of nails or screws. It might have to be cut out.
Even though it'll be noisy try to enjoy your day. You've probably looked forward to this for awhile?

@CarolDM I know what you mean. I have neighbor cows. Not a pretty scene cause their lot is bare but cows. Behind me is sage brush fields. Neighbors nearby but when our driveway gate is shut we are on a three acre island. I still can't believe that I seriously am thinking about moving.
