I am a Second Parent to...

...one of my students tonight. When I entered the class online, my 10-yeard-old boy was crying. Honestly, I am not good at pacifying a child to stop whining over something. In fact, the shedding of tears is because of his mom. Hence, I was able to listen to his concern before proceeding to our class per se. As a teacher of his, I tried to be his second parent to him. Do you also consider your school teachers as the second parents? If not, who do you consider your second parent in life? Image Credit: yoursolutions2017.files.wordpress.com

I am not lucky to have a second parent with my grandparents. First, I never met my mom's parents. Second, my late father's parents were not that close to us before. It was lately that my old man's mom acknowledged us as her own flesh and blood. Most of my teachers during the school days were not considered as my second parents. I am so timid and cannot open up with them.

That's good you could help him. I've never considered anyone as a second parent.

I never had a second parent in my life, too. During my school days, some of the teachers are kept on telling us that they can be one. But I never felt the sincerity when claiming it by them.

@Shavkat It would take a special teacher to do that.

I always used to consider my teachers parents and that's because like parents they teach us many things in our life.

I heard so many friends of mine that they treat their teachers as second parent. I never encountered a teacher who tends to be one during my youth years. I must say that God is what I considered one.

Most of my teachers in high school were special ones to me. They had taught me many things and inspired me to dream big before entering university.

Many people say that teachers are the second parents of children and yet I don't think so. The teachers at my school were annoying and disinterested in us students. They care but it's just a formality. But I know that not all teachers are like that. The person who is like my second mother is my aunt, she is always very kind to me.

I do agree that some teachers had claimed this. I did not see or feel beyond their words about it. Their main role is to teach the students but not other than. Sad to say, some of my teacher did not portray a good example for their students.
