How would you deal with a rush schedule ?

There are 24 hours in each and everyday. For some people who are so busy , they probably will say that "there are only 24 hours in one day". But for those who feel so relax at all times, they will say that " Don't worry , there are still plenty of time in a day." However, we will always face rush situation and sometimes things just comes so suddenly and your planned schedule can be re-schedule by your boss, by your co-workers, by your spouse, by your kids, by accidents or by something or somebody which is just not in your original plan at all. how would you handle such rush schedule and what would you like to suggest to others who may face the same situation as you did.
