If we know that we are, what would it be?
Knocking on wood.
Last week, Good Friday, I have listened to a lot of Tuesday People podcast for some self-reflection and I came in to this episode, "choosing your last words", and it made me look back my departed loved ones, last words. First stop, our mother.
Our mother died June 29, 2003, after being in coma for weeks, she was diabetic and have heart problems issues. What happened before her hospitalization?
Before our mother went to Cagayan Valley to visit my other siblings, she told me that I looked best with a longer hair, my hair has always been short and even have a pixie hair cut in college. And it was that time that my hair has grown longest-- below shoulder level. And that was our last conversation together, for when she went to visit my other siblings, she came back here in Ilocos Sur, riding on an ambulance. Thus, we didn't have the chance to make another conversation, for she was on ICU the whole time.
Never knew that that would be her last words to me that I remember of. She didn't said goodbye to me, to us.
And here I am, still keeping my hair long, for I knew, in my heart, she knew the best for her 10th child.

Oh, how sad. You must have been so young to have lost your beautiful, dear mom. Know that she loved you and told you the truth.
I remember the last conversation I had with my mother. It was on Mother’s Day. I gave her a beautiful watch with diamonds and told her to wear it and not save it. My father returned it to me after she passed away suddenly 4 days later.

That's a beautiful story you shared us with. Happy to know you are keeping your locks long according to the wishes of your mother. Nice way of remembering her every day.

@Lucky15 Oh wow! You've been through such an egregious experience. Glad you came out of it alive. Life is a blessing.
I have a scar on my back also. Always enjoy everyone asking what happened when I wear a bathing suit. I don't answer. Just smile.
The hairlocks are helpful then. Of course it's a different story if everyone sees it and keeps asking on an every day basis.

My mother wished for me (as a teen) to never cut my long hair (she is still alive, very healthy too). BUT long hair brings with it many other problem so when I could, I cut it short right at once. THAT was when I was in my late teens. These days, my mother is OK with whatever hairstyle I have .

@Lucky15 We who are getting older, our hair get grey and we also lose a lot of hair suddenly. Short hair is the way to go I think. (Yet I have an aunt who is still keeping her long hair. Must have taken her a bit of money to keep that silky hair of her remain in that beautiful shade.)

It's funny, I remember one of the last conversations I had with my mom, was me and her arguing because she'd tried to sit up, and I was advising her against it. I would've helped her, but I was on my way to school. So, I couldn't.
