There is a Too Long ; Didnt' Read (summarization) at the bottom. It rained profusely for a few minutes yesterday evening. I checked the humidity percentage last night as well as the temperature and determined it would be mostly dry this morning. I was not wrong. I walked for fifty minutes this morning. That is ten or so minutes longer than I usually walk and a fraction of a mile longer than normal as well. I chose to walk towards the rec in my neighborhood. The rec has swings, a basketball court, a tennis court, a dogeball or baseball field, a soccer pitch. There is a building with arcade machines inside and space for conferences etc. We have a walking trail along it that has two bridges. The waking trail ends on farmland on one side and onto a busy shopping / hotel / home area on the other. Oh and it connects to another neighborhood close to the farm land. It is a beautiful place. I did not walk to it today. I forget how long it takes to walk to it and did not feel like doing so this morning. TL;DR: Encouraging myself to walk a little further each day. I'd like to walk for an hour each morning and possibly an hour in the evening if it's cool enough.

Yes, I do not feel as good on days I am unable to walk. I think walking first thing in the morning clears my head.

@m_audrey6788 I need to do that again. Last year, I walked morning and evening. I would like to start that practice again.

I feel lucky we have this here. There's a little gazebo in the neighborhood above mine too, that I could spend time in if I so chose.

As the days get longer I also plan to walk more and to walk also in the evening. I did not know you had a recreational area with so many things.

It has been here for as long as the neighborhood has been. I believe the area that connects to another neighborhood and to a shopping area is new. I need to walk more in the evenings as well. I enjoyed my evening walks when I took them.

@LadyDuck I will not walk past dark here. We do have street lamps, but I am cautious because people do not like to follow the neighborhood speed limit. Only a small portion of our neighborhood has a sidewalk.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I liked our after dinner walk when we lived in Monte Carlo... of course there the nightlife was a lot more interesting.

Absolutely! I love it so much. Plus, I get to see all different animals. My neighbors cat came and requested pets from me this morning. I did not indulge her because she would have kept me there for a long time AND she is likely to follow me if I do.

@LindaOHio I'm glad also. The past few times I've seen her she's ran away. I think it is her, but it might be another cat.

Thank You! Yes, I am going to walk until I'm at the weight I desire and then I am going to walk some more. It does more than just help me slice these lbs off, it also sets me up for a pleasant day.

@CarolDM It was 12 mph here a little earlier. Think from the ENE.

Thank You! I need to lose around ten or so lbs to be in the normal weight range for my height and age. Every day I remind myself that it's getting easier to walk longer distances and with more vigorous steps.

@Nevena83 Not at the moment. I was dancing, but I don't do that as much. I am considering jogging for a bit each day too.

I'm grateful my neighborhood offers a lot of scenery and I can choose to walk different routes and still be within the same neighborhood. There's a neighborhood across the busy street that opens into gorgeous older homes.

Yes! I love that too. My area of the neighborhood has less trees. There is an area I like to walk that is surrounded by a canopy of trees on either side.
