Peaceful Sunday so far.

We have church services twice a month and today is a no-service day. So this morning my husband and I went to a local restaurant for breakfast. I love doing that. I had link sausage, scrambled egg, grits, fried potatoes, and sweet tea. I've quit drinking coffee (acid reflux), but I was never a big coffee fan. My husband doesn't function well until he's had his coffee, lol. I enjoyed the breakfast since I don't cook grits at home. But I think the cook maybe burned the bottom of the pan and just scraped off the top layer of the grits because they had a slight burnt flavor. I didn't want my food to get even colder waiting for more grits, so I ate them. The food there is usually pretty good, but it's not always as hot as I'd like. Husband's now napping and I'm myLotting. I plan to do my walking in a while..I walk from our house down to the barn a couple of times. Not sure how far it is. So far this is a lazy Sunday. How's your day? Special plans or just relaxing? Photo is of an Azalea in our yard.

I do too, especially since we get fresh brown eggs from River, our little 5 year old great nephew who sells them from his own chickens.

@Courtlynn He's a successful businessman at five years old! Of course his parents help, but when his parents got married, he was the ring bearer and walked down the aisle (outdoors) carrying his pet chicken under his arm!

Same reason I'm giving up coffee even if I love to have them.

What do you drink in place of coffee? I'm trying not to drink a lot of sodas, so I drink fruit juices and water or sometimes sweet tea.

@1creekgirl It's mostly water but when there's this urge to drink a coffee or hot beverage I tried to use this toasted corn powder and make a drink like coffee.

@ZedSmart Is it good? I like spiced hot tea sometimes, tea with orange juice and cinnamon.

Your azalea is beautiful. I also cannot function before my first coffee of the morning and I like my food hot.

That is a great photo! Happy you're having a relaxing day.... those are nice And breakfast out is special. I used to buy these instant grits. They were alright. I would like to have some properly prepared sometime though

I can't abide instant grits, but regular ones seem like a lot of trouble for just me. Do you like anything on them? I like salt and black pepper, I try to leave off the butter.

@1creekgirl I think I used to like butter, or milk.... was never sure how to eat them... as a side dish or like a hot breakfast cereal. Now I really want to try "real"

Hubby did not feel real well, so we did not go to church. He is reading, I am relaxing. Honestly I was not up to par either and went back to bed for an extra hour and a half.

I don't drink coffee very often, much prefer tea. I have four varieties at home!

Lovely photo. I'm glad you had a relaxing Sunday. Wanted to get a couple of things accomplished and needed hubby's help; but he slept the afternoon away. Have a good week.

Goo day. What do you drink instead? I cannot let a day pass without coffee. Sunday was a busy day for me.

My husband is like you, he has to have his coffee first thing. I usually drink apple juice, orange juice, or water. Although at the restaurant this morning, I had a glass of cold sweet tea.

So far it's been relaxing. But I'm trying to get the energy up to cycle to a school, with a baseball and a glove, to practice taking ground balls off of a "handball court."
