So, I went off to my mystery shop today, and this was a self guided tour.(Covid) although the infection rate is low..and this is overkill. I went over to the apartment in question which of course was located at the opposite end of the complex..and after I finally found it, there was no light in there! Now, tell me how are you supposed to see it in the dark? It was overcast as well so there wasn't a huge amount of light coming in. When I had arrived there the agent did not have me on the books although I had called ahead as per requirements..It looked decent, but tell me..how are you supposed to view an apartment in the dark?

I suppose they expect people to use their cellphone light. It's possible the bulb blew out, but that seems something to be checked before potential clients (or in your case, mystery shoppers,) breeze through!

No, it was not occupied so the breakers were off..but if they are going to be showing it, I would suggest they leave the breakers on at least during the day. I have not encountered this before..cellphone light lol. They should just give you a candle when you come... I am joking of course.

@snowy22315 Ah okay. well, the breakers should be part of their pre-walkthrough checklist. Oh well, guess they'll learn after they get the results of your shop. Definitely new to me too!

No, I saw enough of it to write a report. I know what was there...pretty much but they can't expect a real customer to make a decision when the apartment is dark! I wouldn't go for that..and I will write it in my report.

This is silly, you need to look at all details when you visit an apartment.

I mean I it really was. I passed a group of maintenance men and they were all standing around just talking. All of these bigger places have radio communication. She could have just called them on the radio and had them do it.

@snowy22315 Weird, you are right that all those big places have radio communications.

That doesn’t make sense that there’d be no lights to view it.

I know right? That is really weird to send someone to a dark apartment.

I just saw what I could. I mean it wasn't pitch black..but it was dark .There was one large window that let in the light but that was all

You should bring mace in case someone jumps out at you.

I don't see that happening! Normally you go to a unit accompanied by an agent anyway.

Well, no it is the complex who makes a decision. For all they knew I was a real customer...so weird to treat potential paying customers that way.
