Many Benefits to Using Avocado Oil

A friend recommended using avocado oil instead of vegetable oil. And it is supposedly the healthiest oil you can use.
I started reading articles about the benefits. You can add it to salad dressings.
It also has many health benefits and can supposedly help lower blood pressure, help arthritis, and has cardiovascular benefits.
Not sure about that but it is worth a try. Seems a lot healthier than vegetable oil.
Have you ever used avocado oil before? I plan to order a bottle soon and give it a try.

I haven't seen that in the stores yet, but when it's available I buy Kraft Avocado oil mayo. Let us know if you get even more info, thanks!

I have been using it for a while because of its high smoke point also.

@CarolDM It does not taste like olive oil or canola for instance, but it has a rich consistency at least to me. Taste for me is not really like avocados, just not a bad taste at all. It is more expensive but worth it to me.

Thank you for sharing.

I'm sorry, but I think it should be illegal to waste an avocado on anything except guacamole.
Thanks for the info!!

I have and it's actually pretty good. I've used it a lot in my herbal preparations.

I used to make my own avocado oil at home and use it for my hair and skin. It was very good.

I like Avocados very much and buy them at times in a store - sometimes organic - but most times I buy pieces frozen - they are cheaper and easier to put in yogurt - and the oil is probably very healthy ..

Haven't come across that before, and not sure I would choose that - growing avocados uses a massive amount of water and is already causing problems due to their recent huge surge in popularity.
What do you mean by 'vegetable oil' anyway? Obviously avocado oil is vegetable oil. We usually choose either olive oil, known to have many health benefits, or cold-pressed rapeseed oil, which has recently also been shown to have many benefits and is produced locally.

@CarolDM I have read that sometimes it includes cotton seed oil, which has to be refined to remove the natural toxin that it contains and also, since the crop is primarily grown to produce cotton which is not a food crop, it doesn't have to meet the usual food standards regarding pesticides etc. I would avoid that!
