Tie-Dye Day: "Have you done this before?"

My niece is going to have her last activities for this school year as Grade 4. One of her tasks is to do tie-dye on her white T-shirt. I told her how to do it and went upstairs to do it. A few minutes, she went back and told me that it turned to be good art. What kind of art did you do lately? Do you appreciate arts?

I think I had a T-shirt like this before. Since it is my niece's project, I finally knew how to do it.

No, never try this. Would I need paint by different colours for that?

No, you'd need clothing dye to make a tie-dye shirt.

I love arts, but I never dyed a t-shirt simply because I do not like so much. I prefer light colors.

I think she used blue and red on this T-shirt. It was also my first time doing it with my niece.

@LadyDuck I do believe that light colors are best during the hot weather.

Yes, years ago, when Pretty was little, she had to make a tie-dye shirt for school. It turned our okay, but I didn't like cleaning up my sink afterward.

I agree. That's the reason why I asked my niece to do it upstairs because it is a spacious place to have a mess. I never did this during my younger years. It is also my first time with my niece.

@Lucky15 The worst project that we did during my high school days is to make a varsity jacket in 4th year. What do I know about using a sewing machine?

At present, she is in Grade 4 and turning in Grade 5 next school year. I am a frustrated artist since I do not have the time to enhance it.

I know how this is done but I haven't tried it myself. I guess it is pretty interesting that you can create different designs just by dipping them through different color dyes.

@Shavkat Nice outcome and combination. What is interesting about that is you create different designs and almost original as the first one.

Did this a couple of years back as a school project. I've seen kids and teens nowadays wear tie-dye shirts.

Very artistic. I have seen how it was done on YT. During the grade school days, we were asks to do mosiac art. Cut pieces of paper and we even used egg shells for the art.

During my primary and secondary school days, we had so many art projects. I must admit that I hated doing them. Now, I am appreciating them.

It is so simple. You just need to start to tie in the middle of the T-shirt.
