How did they get here?

Al asked me if I had seen the beautiful flowers in our back yard. This is not an area where I have recently planted anything. The area is behind where our pool was so I would never have seen them. Anyway when I looked it was the flowers in the picture.
I have no idea how these bulbs got there but they sure do look pretty.

Apparently where your pool was sitting, there had been bulbs planted years back. Now your pool is no longer there, so these lovely daffodils are free to produce! What beautiful flowers

They weren’t under the pool they are behind where it was. In the picture you can see the dirt area in front of them. That makes sense but doesn’t fit this scenario. They really are beautiful.

It makes good sense but the pool was not on top of this area, you can see the dirt that was the far edge of the pool.

@CarolDM but there would be no reason they are about 5 feet from where the pool was and it’s not an area I would plant daffodils.

@BelleStarr Maybe the bulbs underground stayed dormant while the pool was there.

@BelleStarr Your squirrel decorators have better landscape design ideas than mine. My daffodils and jonquils are everywhere but where I planted them.

@BelleStarr There are daffodils that are ruffly too but they are probably more rare.

Nice, I have daffodil leaves that spring up every year but they haven't had blossoms for the past few years.

I am glad that this is also happening to you. I found daffodils in areas where I did not plant them, it has been the same with the crocus. I thought that flowers from bulbs could only grow from bulbs, I suspect they grow also from seeds.

Well that would explain it, it is mysterious otherwise

@BelleStarr I also think that it is mysterious, I see bulb flowers growing in places where I know I never planted and we live here from 20 years, so no one planted before us or I would have seen them.

They might have dug up someone elses daffodils and buried them here.

I guess that is the likely explanation, but I have never had that many daffodils

But daffodils are bulbs not seeds which makes it more mysterious.

I agree I shouldn’t worry about how they got there and just enjoy them.

Flowers had to have a wild one. So pretty and science in motion.
