My older brother called me last night and he was worried about my daughter's post in social media. He asked me if I have been monitoring them. The post was all about an antigovernmental organization. My daughter just shared the post. Even then, my brother got worried so much that he wanted me to talk to my daughter to be very careful about it.
After talking to him, I talked to my daughter right away and we discussed a lot of things. She understood everything I told her regarding the consequences of being involved in things like that at a very young age. She is a freshman college in one of the top universities here in our country and we are just worried that she might get into trouble or something.
She volunteered to take down the posts.

@LadyDuck I am also glad that she did and I still need to monitor her from time to time. I don't want her to get in any trouble in the future.

@cherigucchi I am glad she did, it is better to keep a low profile with the authorities.

What exactly did your daughter post about? If it was a legitimate criticism of the government's lack of action about the pandemic, then you shouldn't worry so much.

@cherigucchi well, can't blame them. With how things are turning out in our country, it seems we do not have a functioning government.

@allen0187 That is already a given fact but I don't think it is not good for her to get involved seriously on political matters.

It is actually an organization or something, branding themselves as anti-government boldly and that they enumerated all the things they hate about the government.

That is true considering that she's not using a fake account.

Is your brother referring to red-tagging? Is she studying in UP?

I talked to her already and she understood. I guess because she is young and quite impulsive.

It was wise for her to delete the posts. It is unfair and it should not be done, however, prospective employers now check social media posts and "certain posts" could stop them from hiring a person. STUPID! I mean ... unless the person is raging on about destroying the world and is clearly unhinged.
I say whatever on social media. But I'm on old lady. I'm not a young girl who is a freshman in college. Besides the fact that a future employer might hold it against her, there might be a psycho out there right now who could hunt her down because she said something "political" or "religious" that they did not agree with.

I get your point and I do have the same worries. I was able to tell her all about the possible consequences and she understood it so far that was why she already deleted the posts.

Unfortunately, even when posts are taken down, if people have seen them or made screen shots they can come back to haunt you. I hope she does not have any consequences from this.

I am very positive that it won't harm her anymore. I told her to stay away from this kind of activities and even people who tries to persuade her.
