I Was Just Talking About This Yesterday

I told my cousin on the phone just watch the news. We will have to get follow-up COVID vaccines every year. She said I certainly hope not.
Today I read this article stating that will be likely with the Pfizer vaccine. A third does is "likely" needed within a year.
"Those who completed the two-dose regimen for Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine will likely need a third shot within 12 months, CEO Albert Bourla said.
There is also a chance people will need to receive an annual COVID-19 vaccine thereafter", he said.
Time will tell how effective the vaccines truly are.

Yep, cause they have no clue how the long term effects are going to be for people....maybe just more shots or maybe some bad side effect that they can not possibly know at this time. Of course as new strains come out the vaccine may not be effective against the new ones. But so glad so many people are rushing out to get it so I can see what happens to them before getting one.

I'm sure we'ill be hearing from Moderna soon as well. Natural immunity to this virus doesn't last a year so I fully expected to need a booster and even a yearly vaccine if the virus stays ctive.

Just like the flu and almost every other vaccine out there. What a surprise.

Makes sense since we have no idea how long the vaccine will last. We're all guinea pigs basically (not complaining)

@Marilynda1225 I know, and each day seems to bring a different set of rules. We live in the dark lately.

It's gonna be like the flu shot. They are gonna tell people to get it every year. And no one knows about the long term side effects of these vaccines.

I also read about having to do a 3rd shot for Pfizer. I will talk to my doctor about it and also they are passing that we do not have to wear our masks outside starting tomorrow and that we still wear them inside. Because of my chronic rhinitis I want to find out if still not say to go without a mask outside.

It would be nice if they could combine that with the annual flu shot.

Wow, I should have known. My parents, sister and brother in law all have had the Pfizer. My sister and brother in law have had the first and will be having the second in days. I honestly am shocked my brother in law had it done. This is a guy who won't have a regular flu shot because he got the flu after getting one flu shot back in the day. Just wait till I send this article to them. I refuse to get any of the vaccines.

@CarolDM coronavirus is the common name for flu and cold virus's. It just hits harder than most of the others do.

I remember getting polio vaccine boosters, so I fully expected to be told we would need boosters. Having lost several family members to Covid, as well as several friends, I want the protection.
