All Shot Up Again

Ouch.
I went for my almost-annual cortisone injection in my knee today. It hurt my knee more than my knee was hurting before the shot. Of course, that’ll clear up in a day or two, then prayerfully I’ll be good to go for another year (or nearly a year) or so until I have to get all shot up again.
The knee hadn’t really been bothering me that much until recently, and I think the issues here have been directly related to the goofy weather (cold weather and arthritic joints just DO NOT get along). Oh, and that five-mile walk I took probably didn’t help matters, either.
The nurse practitioner said that the gelatinous stuff they give some patients wouldn’t be good in my case. I don’t know: my brother said it’s so expensive a lot of places are apprehensive about giving the shots in case the insurance doesn’t come through. As long as I can walk without constant pain, though, I won’t worry too much about it.
So I’m going to go soak my knee in hot water (I know they said to use ice, but, as I just mentioned, cold and arthritis aren’t friends) and watch a Weather Brains show about the tenth anniversary of the 2011 Super Outbreak. (Wow, has it been ten years....

Ouch! I remember getting knee, hip and back shots. They are NOT fun. I hope you feel better. I have a new hip and knee; and my other knee needs replacing; but I'm not going through that again if I can help it!

i get that knee pain from time to time, It is annoying at best.

I can certainly sympathize with you knee problems, My knees are a mess from arthritis too. I've been thinking of getting those shots but didn't know if they worked. I would almost do anything not to be in constant pain. It certainly would be nice if I could get around easier than I do now.
I find that when I put the heating pad on my knees they feel better than the ice.

Hope you feel better. And, you're right cold is evil. My own joints have been protesting like crazy, too. And, I live in Florida.

I hope you feel much better soon. My right knee acts up now and then and gets out of joint but now that the warmer weather is returning to Florida the knee feels better when I got out and walk in the sunshine,

I have thought about getting injections in my knees because of arthritis but haven't yet. Mike and drink pure black cherry juice and that helps. You're right cold/wet weather make mine ache more. And if I walk/stand too much. Hope your knees feel better.
