Monday Alex Smith posted a video online officially retiring from the NFL.
After 16 years, he decided that he would rather look towards the possibilities even though he felt he had a few more snaps in him.
The 37 year old earned Comeback Player of the year last year for his amazing comeback with The Washington Football Team. Though he says that he did not feel welcome for it.
There was talk of him going to Jacksonville, but when he thought about it, they have two quarterbacks already with the rumor of going for one in the draft. Why would he want to put himself in that type of situation?
Smith wants to enjoy some time with his family before deciding what to do next. Just maybe we'll see him in a coaching position.
Whatever he ends up doing, he'll be good at it.
The man is a true inspiration for people out there that have suffered horrible injuries. He was the first to ask Dak Prescott if he was okay after he passed the danger period. Now he's making his comeback this year. Joe Burrow should be back this year as well after a similar leg injury.
Good luck with whatever venture you go into next Alex Smith!!!
