What we nearly cooked today

We’ve had a hectic few days as we’re cleaning up ready to move to a new home at the end of the month. We lit up another two heaps of branches and rubbish and had to rescue a baby goanna/blue-tongued lizard that was in danger of being cooked.
The lower two photos show some old tools that we sold to an enthusiast. We will only need the bare minimum of tools and none of these are likely to be used even by an enthusiast. The photo lower left is a close-up of various ancient calipers.
We had our afternoon designated for a trip to the rubbish tip and recycling place but friends rang to say they were calling in so that has all had to wait till another day. But it’s okay. Friends are more important and the rubbish will still be there when we get another chance to get rid of it.

@DocAndersen I don't use it but I can understand how useful it might be - when it gets stuff correct, that is.

You're not going to miss them living in the suburbs.

Yes, rubbish will wait but you need to enjoy friends whenever you have the opportunity.

That is so true. Sometimes, when things are piling up, it's hard to remember that it's people, not things, that are important.

I agree, friends are more important than going to the tip.

My body pretty much makes me stop and rest nowadays. But I do take time out quite often.

You have made your moving an adventure and an interesting activity. We have bought a house in town nearby where my wife's sister lives. Going to start making changes there fo it to suit our needs "when we get old."

Situations and people change as we age. When do you think you will move?

Glad the lizard got to go on its merry way, and also glad that an “antiques dealer” of sorts is taking those old tools!

Yes, me too. Luckily he moved or I wouldn't have seen him.
