What we nearly cooked today

We’ve had a hectic few days as we’re cleaning up ready to move to a new home at the end of the month. We lit up another two heaps of branches and rubbish and had to rescue a baby goanna/blue-tongued lizard that was in danger of being cooked. The lower two photos show some old tools that we sold to an enthusiast. We will only need the bare minimum of tools and none of these are likely to be used even by an enthusiast. The photo lower left is a close-up of various ancient calipers. We had our afternoon designated for a trip to the rubbish tip and recycling place but friends rang to say they were calling in so that has all had to wait till another day. But it’s okay. Friends are more important and the rubbish will still be there when we get another chance to get rid of it.

@DocAndersen I don't use it but I can understand how useful it might be - when it gets stuff correct, that is.

That looks like a snake in your upper right picture. I'm glad things are going well for your move. It's good to have friends drop in for a visit.

The bobtail lizard does look snake-like. Yes, it was good to see our friends.

@JudyEv Good thing you were there to save the lizard. It is very exhausting moving. I am glad with all the hard work you are doing to get ready for your move that you had friends visit you so you could relax for a while.

We're getting there. We want to rake and burn the leaves from the boundary fence then that will be the last of the fires.

That is so true. Sometimes, when things are piling up, it's hard to remember that it's people, not things, that are important.

They live in such places. The heap was made up of branches mostly so it was a good home for the lizard. I found it because I got too close to it and only saw it when it moved.

You have made your moving an adventure and an interesting activity. We have bought a house in town nearby where my wife's sister lives. Going to start making changes there fo it to suit our needs "when we get old."

I find it very cumbersome to shift home as have to sort out all the usable things and have to throw all those clutters.
