Day 255 Promise 723 1 John 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. 23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. 24 And he who keeps his commandments dwells in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. Many people try to please others only to have their efforts go unnoticed and unappreciated. John told the believers God noticed His children when they obeyed His commandments. God’s commandment was for them to believe in His Son, Jesus Christ. When they did, the Holy Spirit lived in them. As Christians, your aim is to please God, believe in His Son, and allow the Holy Spirit who lives in you to teach you all you should know to live according to God’s commandment. When you do, God will bless you abundantly above whatever you ask or think. Satan’s aim is to keep you from God’s love by tempting you to follow your own path and do your own thing. When you stray from the path of God’s love, you can’t see the love of God or how much Jesus loves you. John 10:10 The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. Then when you obey His commandment, He will give you whatever you ask in Jesus’ name. John 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it. Keep your eyes focused on God and you will obey His commandment to believe in and trust Jesus as your Savior and Lord. Let’s pray: Father, help me to know when Satan tries to steal me from Your love.
