Guess I was wrong

I seem to have been wrong about something, and I do not mind a bit.
Angel kitty was pregnant when we caught her and brought her to our house. I even saw ultrasounds of the heartbeats of two babies.
Well, she passed the expected due date, and did not look pregnant. However, I never saw or heard any kittens. She has one room where she stays. I looked, and looked. We have A LOT of stuff in there that belongs to my son, but I never found babies.
I began researching "reabsorption" where the momma reabsorbs a miscarried fetus, etc. I even went so far as to call the vet, but did not get to talk to her, yesterday.
I had been in bed an hour, and woke up because hubby was on his way to bed.
I heard Kittens. Went to the room where Mama Cat stays and the babies had gotten loose from where ever she keeps them. She never wanted the nest box I made.
I heard two babies, but when I got Bob and came back they were "gone" again. Bob looked around and found one that had gotten itself cornered where it could not get out. So I got to hold that one.
They are about three weeks old and the little one I saw is a fat little butterball.
Hope to permanently find them and get pictures soon.

She hid them real well. I just found a litter this morning that I moved. Grey kitty was in Pongo goats stall. He dont bother the cats. But I could see him stepping on the babies.

Yes, that sounds rather high risk. Only thing in this house would be if Bibsy and Lady wanted to play with the babies. How many in your littler.

@GardenGerty She has 4 and they are all grey. That is the only color she has ever had

I suspect she has a bit of a cave. I have a chair in there. In and around that chair are lots of vacuum bags of my son's clothes, because I have yet to figure out where they will go. Under that chair would be very secluded.

I guess Mama hasn't made up her mind yet if you can be trusted with her babies.

She may be afraid of the other kitties, too.

The one I am positive about is a tuxedo. With white tippy toes in front. I do not remember about the back. Hair seems short but that does not necessarily mean anything at this age.

@GardenGerty Kittens are so lovely, I love when they start to walk and run around.

Our family cat did that too. She gave birth in her secret hideout and only brought the kittens to show us when they were sort of a few weeks old. My mother had prepared a good area for her but she didn't use it at all. Can't wait to see your little kittens.

I miss having kittens in the house. Have thought about getting a kitten for Little Miss. The thought was quickly ditched when a friend posted a video of her highly active kittens. I was going to take one of hers. Glad I didn't. Even so, I keep thinking I may change my mind if the right one comes along.

After we had to have Princess put to sleep I was not going to have any pets, but I said I would temporarily keep two for a while for a friend and they ended up permanent. The three newer ones were basically abandoned by a former daughter-in-law in that big arctic blast. So that was 5, but then someone deliberately hit one of the older ones with a car and killed him. So now four adults and two babies. Pets are a lot of work but the right one can just make your day.

They are not making sounds except a couple of times when she leaves them at night.

They are going to be very curious soon, I am sure. It has been more than fifty years since I have had kitties this little.

Angel kitty was really good in hiding their babies, I hope they will move around now, so you can see them.
