Terribly sad news

My husband's niece in Arkansas called yesterday to tell us she just found out she has Pancreatic cancer. She's 56 and has always seemed like a daughter to us. We're in shock. I know that is usually a fatal disease because it's seldom discovered early. Most symptoms can be attributed to other less serious conditions. But Donna went for a colonoscopy recently and that's how it was found after more tests and labs. The doctor said she's probably had the cancer for less than two years. That scared us until I found out some people have it for many years before it's diagnosed. So we're praying this horrible cancer was found early and that she has a chance to survive it. If you are a believer in Almighty God, please pray for her. She loves her Lord and she's such a caring wonderful person. She's been through a lot of dreadful experiences in her lifetime (I won't go into details), but it's a testament to her character and faith in God that she's the woman she is. Thank you for your prayers and concern.

Oh my goodness. And so young. I am very sorry. I do hope they found it in time for treatment. Thoughts are with you and her family as well.

We're trusting God to take care of her. My husband just lost a cousin last week who was closer to him than his own brothers. This niece has always thought of my husband more as a father than uncle, so it's hard. She's like our second daughter.

Very sorry to hear it, and unfortunately yes. Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadlier ones. Gosh, terrible news.

@porwest I'm glad that many cancers that were incurable just a few years ago are now cured at times. But it's a horrible disease.

@1creekgirl We are, of course, making some progress. But not nearly where we need to be yet, and still many deaths are a result of cancer.

We've had two friends die of this just lately and in each case it took them very quickly. I will pray for your niece. I'm so sorry this is happening to her.
