Day 262 Promise 730 1 John 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear hath torment. He who fears is not made perfect in love. 19 We love him, because he first loved us. 20 If a man say, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar: for he who loves not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loves God love his brother also. How well do you love? Do you love the seen and unseen? Do you make exceptions to those you love or hate? John told the believers their love made them perfect so they could be bold in the day of judgment. Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. (KJV) John told them love casts out all fear. He also told them, if they didn’t love their brothers whom they saw, they couldn’t love God whom they couldn’t see. To love completely, they needed to love their brother. When they did, God’s love abided in them. As Christians, you know you should love everyone. God did not make exceptions. Jesus loved everyone. He is your example. He showed love to those who condemned Him, questioned Him, abused Him, and crucified Him. Jesus showed love to those who came to Him in the middle of the night, followed Him unquestioningly, and listened to every word He spoke. Love takes away fear and brings you into the throne room, into God’s presence. Love covers you so God can see you and not your sin. Love completes you so you can love as Jesus loved. When you love as Jesus loves, you are complete, perfect, in Him. Let’s pray: Father, let Your love dwell in me and reach out to everyone I meet. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. I try to love everyone, but every now and then, some people would be so nasty that it becomes a task, a hard task to just tolerate them.
