Fleabane Are Flowers Too

As the weather heats up, it seems the fleabane weeds spread more and more. I don't mind these in my garden. But not in the lawn. They take over the grass.
The lawnmower will get rid of these for today. But tomorrow they will grow right back. Very hard to get rid of these weeds. So I try to become friends with them.
Enjoying another beautiful spring day. A little cooler for a few days, after all of the rain we had.
Have been out checking on bird nests. All seems to be well for now.
Snapped this photo to share with you. Weeds are flowers too.

They're pretty little things, aren't they?
We live next to a park, and there's a stubborn little patch of them that grow right at the edge of the field. It's up against the rocks of the drainage ditch, so the big mower that comes through weekly can't get them. Every so often someone from the city will come through with the weed eater and take down the tall grasses along that edge. There's one employee who will cut right up to the edge of the flowers, but he's the only one who leaves them there. I'm hoping he's going to do most of the trimming this year, too. The flowers attract a lot of bugs and there are a handful of little whiptail lizards that love to run around eating them off the stems.

I just asked what they are before I read this previous post! They really are pretty, though.

The weeds that grow in our woods are gorgeous! I've always loved dandelions, regardless of where they come up:)

Thank you for telling me what these are. The last year or two they have appeared in the church's cemetery. I have no idea how they got there, but they lay over a grave so it's like having fresh flowers until I mow. I think they are pretty.

The weather has been mild with a lot of sun the past couple of days. The rain is gone for now.

Such a pretty flower disguised as a weed. Very devious indeed! I have some in my yard. I feel kind of bad when I have to mow over them or pull them up. But like the terminator "they'll be back."
