Visited the Mall after 7 Months

I think my last visit was on September of 2020. Not visiting much as I used to because I just bought my needs at smaller grocery stores as well as on a public supermarkets and few online purchases. I tried to look for a computer mouse at one outlet located there because I need to replace the old mouse as it's already defective. A once a crowded and merry place looks very far from it's previous state these days. Some stores are closed and of course you can't see people with their children because until now kids are not allow to come in. A lady standing beside the escalator offered their services which is a massage performed by a blind person. They have a small space there and it's good that somehow they're now allowed to rendered services for them to earn in these most trying times. I declined the offer because I had other place to go after my purpose but I think I would come back some time to try it as I'm really missing the body massage which I'm used to in a traditional way at home.

Does the mall have many people or few because of COVID restrictions?

@mildredtabitha Yes, we're all advised to stay home if we don't have important things to do or business outside. During the first two months of the lock down, it's very strict and one can go out with a color coded pass. If a person caught outside without having it, he or she is penalized.

Few because of the restrictions imposed to control the virus infection. That is understandable because we should follow all the protocols set by the competent authorities.

I think it's better not to risk if we can still get supply from other sources or if we do not have important or urgent purposes.

@ZedSmart It must be eerie being in a place that used to be crowded. Hopefully you can get that massage another time.

Yes, very much different. I can only hope that this pandemic will end so that everything that has stopped will back.

During this pandemic I have only been to the mall 3-4 times, that's because I really need refreshing. And yes I also missing the body massage.

That is the best we can do. To limit going to places especially if we do not have something important in purpose.

Malls are losing a lot of business. I wouldn't be surprised if so close down because of the pandemic.

@ZedSmart yup. That is the key word - surviving. It isn't enough.

That is true. Only those in essential industries are mostly surviving.

It was a very long time you did not go to the Mall. Our mall was open because there are two grocery stores inside, but the food court and most of the stores were closed. From Monday they should all open again.

@ZedSmart All the stores who were obliged to stay closed are receiving a contribution from the Government, none of them has been left without source of living.

Yes, it's been quite a time. Good to hear that they're about to resume operation. It must be very painful to most business owners especially those labeled as non essential more so to their employees who lost source of living.

@LadyDuck Here, employees from small and medium enterprise who were force to shut down were given a wage subsidy in two tranches but I think it was not sufficient however, it's already an immediate help.

Pretty needed a new keyboard for her desktop but the local stores were sold out of them. We looked for several weeks, with me telling her to just order it online and have it shipped here. She finally did that. Stores aren't getting shipments to replace what has been sold but we aren't going to the big cities to buy things either. Too many cases of Covid to do that. I hope you found what you needed.

Yes, I wouldn't go either to places outside my city if it's risky to travel there. Would be better if try to look online and have it delivered. Too bad for that store didn't shipped out the item for her.

Me too. If it's crowded, I won't go to malls. If a store gets crowded, I hurry and check out.

@ZedSmart Right. I can't be vaccinated, so I'm carefuler. I get adverse effects from flu shots. Dr. Fauci said in news, if you're that way, don't get covid-19 vaccination.

Yes, we should keep ourselves safe as it's not yet safe to just go outside without following health protocols.

long enough you haven't visited the mall, when you enter the mall there is a temperature measuring officer at the entrance to the mall?

Yes, they erected a thermal scanner at the entrance. They also do not allow you to enter without mask and face shield.
