I just saw something interesting

So, I just found out that my local Chinese place is now into selling to go beer and cocktails. This state seems determined to turn everyone into an alcoholic it seems, with alcohol sales booming everywhere and bars able to extend to their original hours again. I bet during the lockdowns drinking increased bigtime. However, I might just avail myself of a Mai Tai or Tsingtao that I could drink at home. WTH, it might be fun. Are restaurants allow to sell cocktails and alcohol drinks to go in your area?

I'm not sure about everywhere. Applebee's was doing it for awhile. I like Mai Tai's.

@snowy22315 Hmm, they might. They seem like the type of restaurant to do that.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I know I asked about it once, and I think they weren't doing it, but they might be by now.

@snowy22315 Right. I think Chipotle's had a lot of changes in the past year. I haven't been in one in over a year.

Actually I don't know but as restaurants were closed due to the lockdown, that wasn't even a question.

I haven't seen that here and don't think it would be allowed.

With the way Australians imbibe, I would find that a tad surprising actually...

@JudyEv We have those same laws I am sure you can do whatever you want to on your own property though. The beach rule I think is pretty much ignored here too I think..but I don't know I haven't done it really..Probably as long as you don't flaunt it it is OK.

@snowy22315 Some of our liquor laws are Draconian - no drinking in a car or public place unless it's licensed although the latter is often ignored. Maybe I have that wrong as everyone drinks at the beach if you're in a big group.

I have no idea. A lot of businesses are finally opening up now. Probably selling a lot downtown.

Sometimes they have strange rules around it though. One of the Mexican places I know of says you can get a to go Margarita, but not if it is left over from your dinner?? Supposedly that is a liquor control board law, but they said people have told them that are places that are letting them do it.

@snowy22315 sounds a bit complicated to me. I can't see it ever being allowed here though. I think it would have been allowed by now because someone must have thought about it
