Growing up, I played this game called “Bubble Bobble” quite often. Here is a quick description from Google: "Players control Bub and Bob, two dragons that set out to save their girlfriends from a world known as the Cave of Monsters." Instead of shooting fire, you shoot bubbles, hence the name of the game (well, besides the names of the dragons lol). The game came out in 1986, when I was just a year old. I may have played it a few times on a computer emulator (for old games) as a teenager or adult, but I can't remember. Recently, I decided to see if there may be a handheld Bubble Bobble game, and what do you know - there is a handheld game! It’s called a Bubble Bobble Pocket Player. It takes four AAA batteries, but it can also be powered by a micro-USB cord. After debating it for a bit, I finally decided last week to go ahead and order the game and an eight-pack of AAA batteries through Walmart (third-party seller), plus I paid an extra $4 to have a 3-year protection plan on it. I used PayPal’s “Pay in 4” method, so it’ll take $9-something out of my account every two weeks, so that’s not bad for a video game and batteries. The batteries arrived on Friday, and the game arrived today. It didn’t come with batteries, so I’m glad I ordered that eight-pack lol. I’ve already played it a few times, but I want to get in a few writing orders, so I’ll play more later. I should be finished with my work soon though. :) It comes with three games, and this includes the original Bubble Bobble. It’s also small enough to fit in my purse (without the box), and it has a wrist strap, so yay. :) No regrets about this purchase. I’m having a blast with my new-old video game haha. :) Photo Credit: I snapped a picture of my Bubble Bobble Pocket Player (while turned off) earlier today.

Doesn't surprise me it didn't ship with batteries. Most eletronic devices that have removable batteries usually don't. I'm happy to hear that you've found some fun in it. Wonder what other hand helds are out there.

Some do, some don't, but it's all good. I ordered a pack of 8 batteries with it. Thank you so much! There seem to be a lot of handheld games. I have a Tetris one that looks like a little vintage arcade game, and I have a Pacman one of the same design. My best friend bought me those two for Christmas.
