I want nothing to do with anything they produce. According to the news headline I saw a couple days ago they're back at killing wolves again.
I hope what they do to one of the most majestic animals in the wild will happen to each and every one of those who commit this slaughter. It's insane.
The Idaho House on Tuesday approved legislation allowing the state to hire private contractors and expand methods to kill wolves roaming Idaho — a measure that could cut the wolf population by 90%

that's so sad and crazy that they would resort to such measures.

It sounds like the wolves are killing cattle and elk and other species which isn't good either. It would be better if they found a middle ground for containment rather than bringing inn outside hunters to eliminate so much of the population.

@rebelann If they kill the weak that are still growing up that doesn't seem fair either.
We have cayotes here in the other side of fences of homeowners that your can hear at night. If their numbers get to high that they destroyed the farmers livelihood I would expect some measures to be taken.

@rebelann well fair enough! but Idaho is also not the only state that allows the hunting of wolves.

Such legislations put a big spanner in the animal conservation efforts of many years.
Plus a grave threat to the wolves and the overall ecology.
Are those passing the bills mad or purely greedy?

@rebelann
When hunting is outlawed in so many places across the world, why is it being allowed in Idaho?
A bit unbelievable!!

I think they are both insane and greedy. They think because they have wolves that everyone has them, they seem to be ignorant of the dire situation wolves are in world wide.
What is worse is that in my opinion those hunters simply want to kill, they think it is fun.

@rebelann Right. "We" are the ones taking over their territories and sadly continue to do it . We are the invaders and the things we do drive the animals to go where they go - I mean, where are the animals supposed to go. People don't seem to understand that these mass killings affect the whole chain of life .

So very true. Soon we'll be living in bubbles with artificial air to breath and no kritters or plants cuz we killed em all. Kinda like on that show Buck Rogers of the 25th Century .... kinda scary how close we are to living like that.

Yes, it is alarming that people are constantly complaining about too many this or that when all they had to do is leave the predators alone and they would control the over population of deer or other herd animals. Coyotes control the rat and mice population but granted many people with small dogs or cats would need to take care not to leave them outside alone.

I don't believe everything I read or hear online. Unless you live there, you can't know what is, or isn't happening there.

@rebelann And, if this holds any grain of truth-- assuming it passes-- what makes you think boycotting will do any good?

It's not about whether or not it'll do any good, it's to let people know what they're doing in that state especially since Taxpayers have been doing their best to restore the wolf to it's former glory. They were only recently delisted from the endangered list and now they might end up back on that list or worse.

The original laws said 150 wolves in 15 packs was good , now there are 1500 wolves. That is 10 times more than what was deemed correct so I am going to let the residents of Idaho decide their own limits. There can be a thing as too many wolves, I know coyotes have become an issue in CT.

But think about that who wants a thousand wolves? Not me. @rebelann too many wolves isn’t as good thing, too many deer isn’t good and now we just had a pregnant moose killed by a car in CT, moose usually are not this far south. We have bears wandering In heavily populated areas. I am sympathetic I don’t want animals tortured but controlling the population is another matter.

That article says they've never stopped killing wolves. It said that in the last two years they've killed 1,000 of them.
I understand the ranchers complaining about losing sheep and cattle, but getting upset because the wolves are killing deer and moose makes no sense. That's their natural prey.

@rebelann I believe you're right. But the ranchers won't admit that.

They should have been more careful where they introduced them.

That's true too. Wolves have been around a lot longer than humans have but when they introduce them they start trying to control all of them, Mother Nature knew what she was doing from the beginning which is why predators were always fewer than their prey. Hunters out for sport only have created a very bad problem with both.

Why do they do such things! I'm with you. No to Idaho. There are humanitarian ways to control the population (ask any vet).

Whats worse is that soon people will start complaining about deer overpopulation, if they'd leave the wolves alone that won't happen.
