Day 265 Promise 733 1 John 5:6 This is he who came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. 7 For there are three who bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 8 And there are three who bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. 9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. 10 He who believes on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he who believes not God hath made him a liar; because he believes not the record that God gave of his Son. Records prove many things about our past and present. Your records tie you to your family and ancestry. Records also hold up in a court of law showing your guilt or innocence in a situation. They are a witness to who you are and what you did. John told believers there were two records, one in heaven and one in the earth. He also told them there is a witness of in the earth. Heaven has three, and the earth has three. Both record the Spirit in heaven and earth. As Christians, you have both the record and the witness in you. You have the Holy Spirit who brought you to Jesus Christ when you accepted Him as Savior and Lord. When you receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, you have the Godhead living in you bearing witness to the faithfulness of God in your life. Colossians 2:6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7 Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. 8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9 For in him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: 11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: 12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he who comes after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: 12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire. God’s record in heaven includes the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit. These three are one person. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Jesus told the people He was one with the Father. John 10:30 I and my Father are one. (KJV) You also have the witness of the Holy Spirit in your lives. The same Holy Spirit who is one with the Father and the Word, Jesus Christ. John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them who believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. God chose you as His own before the foundation of the world. Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: 4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, 6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. (KJV) You have the witness of the blood on you through the death of Jesus Christ. And you have the witness of the water, your natural birth. Nicodemus came to Jesus at night to verify He was the Messiah. John 3:1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that you do, except God be with him. 3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus said unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8 The wind blows where it lists, and thou hear the sound thereof, but cannot tell whence it comes, and whither it goes: so is everyone who is born of the Spirit. 9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? 10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and know not these things? 11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. 12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? 13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he who came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. This is God’s witness in the earth, even Jesus Christ, His Son and the Holy Spirit bears witness to Him in your lives. You are born of natural means through water. You are born through spiritual means, through the Holy Spirit when you are born again and accept Jesus as Savior and Lord. Let’s pray: Father, let Your Holy Spirit bear record of my life and be a witness in the earth of Your Son, Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
