...a 14-year-old male student trigged my evil side. As usual, a rude student who thinks smarter than me. Whoah! At first, I was trying to maintain my coolness. Then, he is barking at me. It is not acceptable and I told him to stop. I really can tolerate bad behaviors but shouting at me is not one of them. The root cause is he cannot ask me a question politely. I asked him to rephrase it so that I can get his point. Out of frustrations, he started to act violently but feeling proud of himself. I felt wanting to retire now. What do you think of people who are too proud of themselves? Image Credit: knowyourphrase.com

This is the not so good part of teaching!! We must stay calm but firm and tell them , I'm can't teach with this attitude, if we can talk respectfully then I can teach!

@db20747 You said it right. I am trying to check every student and be absent if they are rude ones.

I did what you said but he pushed me to the edge. I cannot endure myself being disrespected because he wants me to be under his spell. No way for that...

@Shavkat some students will definitely push you to the edge with outright disrespect

So, what did you end up doing? Will he survive? Will we need to take up a collection to bond you out of jail now? I hope you didn't have to go offline because you killed the monster. I would really miss talking with you.

If I can only do that, I will do it. He will not have the chance to have a class with me.

@DaddyEvil They cannot do that to me. Unless if they blocked my account with this company.

@Shavkat I was getting worried that you were going to ignore my response here... Or that you were in jail... Thank you for not being caught yet. I can still talk with you until the police track you down. If you can get to a plane without them catching you, I'll help you hide out from them.

I tried to calm myself after shouting at him. I need to check my students twice or more before deciding not to have classes with them. I cannot put myself into such a situation again.

You have a very challenging job. I cannot tolerate those who think too highly of themselves.

There are some students like him. I was really disrespected last night. I told him not to shout because it is not the right thing to do.

That must have been frustrating. Yes there are kids who are loud and rude in their behaviour because their parents don't teach them the etiquettes

It is really frustrating because I cannot drop the class instantly.

He is 14 and it seems his parents have not taught him to respect his teachers, perhaps you could refuse to teach him?

You are right. I will rather be absent than teach him next time. Even my family heard me shouting last night and thinking that my blood pressure spiked, which it was.

It's really very difficult to deal with such kids. You try to keep calm or complain against him to principal or so. Have a good day. Take care

There is no need to tell the higher-ups because they just don't care.

@simplfred There is no particular age group. All I know, if a student does not want to learn, the rudeness comes out naturally.

As a student and as a younger person, of course, he should be polite to you

He should be. Next time, he will not have another class with me. I rather have an absence than having him in my class online.
