Keto/Low Carb Food Review: Legendary Foods Tasty Pastry (Blueberry Flavor)

Getting back on track, I will be trying some more items that we have received from the Keto Box/Krate. Today I tried the Tasty Pastry from Legendary Foods in Blueberry flavor. I hope in the future we'll get one of their other flavors (red velvet, birthday cake, hot fudge). Let's talk about the nutrition first. In one of these pastries there are: 150 calories, 15g Protein, 4g Net Carbs, <1g Sugar, 4g fiber, 7g Fat The ingredients are not horrible, but definitely not clean "Keto". It has a protein blend with protein powder, collagen peptides, and is sweetened with allulose and erythritol. There is sucralose, but it is at the very bottom of the list. I'll try to test my blood sugar after all these items, but can't promise that I will. I did for this one and my blood sugar did not spike after eating this. (I started this morning at 324, and was 193 after eating the pastry). What did I think of the pastry? I thought this flavor tasted really good. It was sweet like you'd hope with a "poptart" or pastry as they call these. The blueberry flavor was not too bad (I normally don't eat the fruit flavored poptarts). I would rate this flavor 6/10; the pastries in general so far 7/10. I'd rate them higher if the price were better. They are around $2.50 for one pastry! Have you tried these? If not, would you (if they weren't so expensive)?

Doesn't rest inspire me with confidence that it is healthy. Can I ask how much the pastry weighs so I can work out what the percentage of fat is.

The fat is 9%, looked it up on the label. And it may not be the healthiest, but it is much better than the ingredients of regular pop tarts lol.

@MommyOfEli2013 Have you considered making your own. We made our own. Far tastier than Pop Tarts. Maybe more than 9% fat but none of.tbe.additives. These last 4 months in lockdown we have tried to copy lots of things we previously bought.

@JimBo452020 I got this in a keto subscription box so was just trying it. I do a higher fat diet, so doesn't bother me to be higher carb. I could probably make them out of fathead dough. Just need to figure out the fillings. That's great that you've done that in the past 4 months.

It was pretty good, especially for someone that doesn't like fruit lol. I do like fruit flavored things sometimes. But if you like blueberries then you may like these

I know I would. Especially the hot fudge. Now I want Pop Tarts, LOL! But, yes. This sounds like something I would try, but I'm not paying that for one pastery. Not happening.

Oh yeah I really want to try the hot fudge too! Really hoping it's in the next Keto Krate. You can get a box of poptarts for the price of one of these!

@MommyOfEli2013 I know what you mean. I wish food prices weren't so high. And, the price for many brands are climbing like crazy.

I like Poptarts so I would probably like it. Though it's been ages since I bought anything like that, so I probably wouldn't buy it.

Yes, too expensive. I'd buy the other flavors to try if they weren't so expensive. No problem....nice that someone appreciates it
