Speaking of neighbors

The Moroccans got into a fight over the weekend. They are cousins. Anyway they used to have a young couple living there with them who paid $700 in rent but they moved out several months ago. They had the master bedroom which is why paid so much. One of the cousins slept on the couch and paid $250. So basically the rent was paid and the guy whose name is on the lease didn't have to pay anything. Anyway the cousin who is on the lease told the other one that he had to start paying $500 in rent (to still sleep on the couch). He is perfectly capable of paying all of the rent himself but seems he is trying to make up some of the lost rent from the kids. He informed his cousin of this in front of a bunch of us because we were all sitting out on the landing just hanging out. The guy got seriously pissed off (and embarassed) and said he wasn't paying any more rent to sleep on a couch. Then he went into the apartment and slammed the door. I told the other cousin that he shouldn't have done that in front of all of us. He didn't seem to care. So the couch cousin called me yesterday afternoon and told me to take care of myself. It dawned on me that he was moving out. I asked him where he was going but he wouldn't tell me. I guess he thinks I'll tell his cousin. I have his cell # so we'll still be able to keep in touch. I will miss him bringing me some of his delicious macaroni and potato salads. The other cousin has screwed himself. Not only is he out the $700/month from the kids but now he's lost the $250/month from his cousin. All of the rent is his responsibility now.
