I don't know if it's rude.

I give the delivery person $2 in quarters along with a greeting card. I know that its not rude because they are always happy to get those coins for the meters. I am giving this one a mother's day card. Blank of course with an envelope. I don't have the heart to ask if the person needs it. Today, I gave another card out to a friend I have not seen in a long long time. I just hope all is well giving it to the person.

I don’t think it is rude to give a Mother’s Day card but I think the delivery person would prefer cash.

The delivery people here have to pay quarters to park. Is that what you mean by bills versus coins.
