Kitty awakened me at 5 AM with yet another peeping present.

As you know from my previous posts, most of our dreaming occurs late at night. I was happily asleep, about to kiss the pretty girl, when I heard peeping and scuffling in my humble abode. Kitty had brought me another present.
I assumed it was another baby squirrel and tried to return to my delicate kiss. But the peeping and scuffling continued. As I sought the tender lips in my dream, I noticed that the peeping was different from those of the baby squirrel.
I got out of bed and found that Kitty was chasing a young sparrow around my apartment/flat.
A sweet moment occurred as Kitty and I both tried to get the sparrow out of the corner underneath my air conditioning unit. We were hunting together.
But when the bird jumped INTO my air conditioner, I had visions (including olfactory visions) of a dead sparrow in my apartment.
I poked my finger into the bottom of the air conditioner, hoping that the omnipresent and venomous black widow spiders would forgive my intrusion.
After about five minutes, I was able to remove the fluttering sparrow. I callously tossed it outside through the front door (Kitty followed) and closed the front door and the sliding glass window to my balcony.
Kitty was banned from my house for fully an hour.
As I tried to rediscover the delicate kiss that Kitty had interrupted, the sun started to rise.
I realized that my night of sleep was done. And that the pretty girl I had been kissing would have to wait.
The poor bird is now in Kitty's outside wet food bowl. If you're gonna catch it, you'd better eat it.
I will stumble through my day. I'm not sure if it's yesterday or today.
Why did God send us cats?

@TheHorse She knows you're her pet. She's trying to make sure you get enough to eat.

Uhm... I think cats tamed us so they could have servants with hands to stroke them, scratch them and fill their wet food bowl.
I'm positive Kitty thanked you for catching the escaping sparrow for her.
Buck up! You'll make it through your day and be ready to pamper Kitty when you get back home.

Gross! She's a danger to the neighborhood's critter population. I'd like to say that dogs are better; but one of our dogs brought us a baby rabbit (still alive); and one had a chipmunk. Hope you had sweet dreams last night! :-)

Your cat appears to be ultra-astute. It is nice to have the company of an animal.
