For those of you who have known me for a long time you'll probably remember me talking about my Aunt and Uncle that live in upstate NY and travel back and forth to Florida for the winters. Until Covid they drove there every year and stopped here on their trip there and back. Yesterday my Aunt passed away. I don't have any of the details, no one called me, and I'm heartbroken. How did I find out you might ask? I saw it on Facebook What a way to find out that someone you loved so much is no longer with us. I saw it on my godsons Facebook page. I know he's probably devastated (as well as the rest of the family) but I'm shocked and couldn't believe what I was reading. Needless to say my heart is broken.

Oh I am so sorry for you. I do remember how you looked forward to them stopping in on their travels. May she RIP and her family, as well as yourself, hearts grieve her loss and heal in time.

@Marilynda1225 That is a shock, but really, what better way to go? My Gramma was not ill, she was waiting for her cataract surgery when she got dressed 1 morning, and then decided to lie back down again. She looked as if she was sleeping sweetly when we found her. She did not struggle nor suffer.

@Marilynda1225 Yes there is, and realize too that she is with The Maker now.

I think part of the biggest shock is she wasn't even sick (or that I knew of). I'm not that close to my cousins as they're scattered throughout the US. I don't even know if any of them have my phone number.

I'm not even one to be on Facebook that much anymore so I don't know what prompted me to go that day.

So sad for you, and sorry to hear about your Aunt's passing. Maybe, family thought that, since many to notify, they'd say about your Aunt's passing on via Facebook?

Thank You Anna. No they were in upstate NY. I still don't have many details as I guess the whole family is busy making arrangements. It's too far for me to travel and I'm assuming with Covid they will keep it small.

@LadyDuck yes there are restrictions but I think it's not quite as restrictive as it was when Covid first hit.
