This is the problem of my acquaintance and former co-worker. She's into selling various items online including second hand clothing. Hoping she could sell more, she loaned an amount to online lending app. The interest is high but she dove to it so that she could add more to her capital. After she received her money, she transacted to two suppliers from different places. She agreed to send the payment before the items to be shipped but after that, the persons cannot be contacted and trace now and blocked her. In short she was scammed. The problem is her loan due. The lender now constantly asking her payment sending collection notices to all her contacts listed in her phone book and FB friends.

If ever she can pay it immediately the better because the interest is piling up daily and aside from that, the collector is also sending messages to all her contacts.

That's really bad. Sometimes we need to pray for money before we use it to avoid falling into scammers

@mildredtabitha I hope the lender would consider and extend the due so that she can still gather resources.

Exactly. I don't know what made her trust like that. Scammers might just very good at convincing their victims. Despite the many cases, there are still this who fall to their wrong hands.

This online lenders shame their clients if they cannot pay on time. I'm sorry to hear your experience. I'm always reluctant to trust easily when money is involved.

@ZedSmart I have those issues now. When I was scammed I was just a teenager. Eager to earn money fast. well, that didn't help and I chose the wrong path. these days I just look at the facts and then think about it for a day or two, sometimes weeks and then proceed accordingly.

@Prabhatsingh yes, sometimes we learn from our own mistakes and that make us wiser and more careful in dealings with people and in giving trust particularly.

I guess she got scammed by both her lender and supplier. I heard that these online loan sharks can be very nasty when they will not be paid on time. I guess she should not get from thoae that will harass her until she gets to pay them again.

It is not clear what for you have started the discussion? Are you making people aware that they should not go for on line shopping from unknown sources? or you are telling that your co-worker has been scammed and one should be careful about online purchases?

I think we must be very careful in our dealings like this. Once it involved money, there should be an assurance that you can run after the person if they try abscond.
