Don't tell me that's snow flying around? It certainly looks like it but the flakes look strange.

It was chilly out last night and getting down to 34 F . It could easily be snow. But this time it isn't, thankfully. It took me a bit to figure out what I was seeing but I think it's cottonseed. It's not as puffy as normal but it doesn't usually begin to blow around here until June at the earliest. Crazy weather.

I saw snowflakes spinning through the air last week, but nothing on the ground.

Cottonseeds and snowflakes look similar and one can easily get confused.

@mildredtabitha Like I said before I'm pretty sure it was fluff from the cotton seed tree flying. Someone else said they were flying early this year.

I just saw that today’s baseball game between the Reds and the Indians in Cleveland has already been postponed due to snow.

Yes, from a cotton seed tree. They resemble dandelions that have turned white.

That's when our cotton starts flying too. Right now the grass is golden yellow with dandelions.

I've noticed I have dandelions where I've never had them before. I should get outside and dig some up.

@Hannihar n normally may is better too. This is just a crazy year. Starting tomorrow the temps will go up again and be in the seventies by the weekend but it was sleeping when I came to work. At least it was brief.

It's messy and collects on screens blocking the view. It can cover the ground and resemble snow that way too but not normally until June.

Well, those cottonseed tricked you . Thankfully, it's not snow and that makes you happy.India is going for its peak summer in coming few weeks. Glad that our city is pleasant throughout year and we don't get extreme temperatures like other parts of our country.

Saturday afternoon we had a couple of downpours. The wind blew cold and there was a wintry feel to the air. Suddenly, around dinner I looked out of the window to see snow. Not what I wanted to see.Yesterday was rainy...today I see blue sky and sunshine.

Similar to here. A day or two of warmth mixed in with the rest of the week in the fifties. For the next ten days the temps will be higher maybe now it will stay that way.

Do you want to hear about my strange experience? The weather is so moody here, rain, sun change 100 x per day. And here I am sitting on the porch and something white, pieces around me flying. First I thought it's snowing, but not. Do you know what was? Don't laugh, dandelion. Yep, all dandelion's white parts were surrounding me. Do me a favour, I'm not a native English speaker, how do you call these white parts of dandelion in Michigan?

I don't remember the right term at present. I call it dandelion fluff. They're also called Tufts and parachutes but some as the seeds are inside and more will grow from it blowing about.
