Find a reason to smile every day

Good.. Well, I can't say morning now, can I? It's 1:54 PM EST here. So good afternoon (or whatever time of day it is). I can't promise this post will be short, but I can promise I'll break it up and of course, I don't expect anyone to read the whole thing. Lists I suppose I am beginning to understand the benefits of making lists or schedules for oneself. I am working on this now, and while I'm not completely satisfied yet, I know I will get there. Having a Relaxing Day I am learning to let go and dedicate one full day to just relaxing. I haven't yet done that, of course, unless you count those days when I am away from home. When I am home I tell myself that I need to do this or that to feel complete. Stream of Consciousness I am developing this skill. Anyone (who desires to) can do it. All it really is is writing what's on our minds. Writers use it to understand their characters better and that is the purpose I am using it for too. I think I will do a Stream of Consciousness session every day, even if I do not write on my story every day. Affirmations We all have our different belief systems. I describe myself as an agnostic spiritualist. I do not believe in a god, but I do believe we all possess a power within us to contribute to the cosmic good. I'm practicing affirmations on a daily (or near daily) basis and have found it works for me. Again, not for everyone, but I wanted to mention it here. Crocheting Do you find yourself buried under a mountain of tasks? I have so many crochet projects OTH (on the hook) at the moment, but I am enjoying every one of them. I even have a few I want to start soon. I will share some pictures as I complete the projects. Because it is Mother's Day I will end this post with a memory. I think I may have mentioned this one sometime before, but I will mention it again. When I was a child, my mother and I would visit craft stores. Ben Franklin's was the one we frequented the most, but I believe we also frequented Michael's too. later A.C. Moore came into existence, but I don't recall visiting this one as much with her. I remember taking my sister's hand and going to the sticker aisles where I would take a long time to pick out just the packet of stickers I wanted. Of course, I could never choose, but mom always encouraged me to choose just one. I could not help but smile when I was at Michael's the other day. I felt like I was stepping into my mother's shoes by hastening my steps to reach the yarn aisle. Of course mom also bought things like pipe cleaners, shrink a dink plastic, sun catchers, doll parts (for her crocheted dresses). Mom, how I miss you.

I'm sorry your Mom is no longer around. I'm a list maker too. I love getting things done and crossing them off. No, I only have a few things to do today...nothing overwhelming. Spent a quiet and uneventful Sunday. Have a good week.

Thank You. I feel closer to her every time I pick up a crochet hook and some yarn. My early childhood was spent watching mom crochet and then selling those things at flea markets.

Yesterday I erased my dry erase board and added new affirmations. I will practice these for 21 days. They help me.

At least you have good memories of your mom. I am thankful mine is still around but I would like to be closer so I could see her more often. Actually, my ideal would be to buy a summer place in my hometown. It wouldn't be impossible, but what I could buy would probably not be very desirable. Renting probably wouldn't work out. Maybe I should just buy a lot and go from there..Some of those tiny houses aren't that much.

Many are missing their mothers today. I find myself piled with fun things to do. Of course, they are not all fun, but I just smile and roll with it. Such is life, right @ScribbledAdNauseum

Just always do some a little act of kindness every day it could put a smile on you and can go a long way to the other person. Just a simple hello or a smile on our face could make someone's day brighter and lighter
