Mother's Day (2021)

Today, as I assumed it would be, was an odd Mother's Day.
As my mom had to work, and the only thing I had for her was a card. As she didn't want or need anything, and I buy her stuff all the time when we go shopping anyways. And every mini-golf was already closed by the time she got home.
Then you have the fiance being here. Which I guess shouldn't be weird, as he's been here for past Mother's Days. But for whatever reason it felt weird, lol. And the two of us didn't go out and do anything earlier, as neither of us felt well. Nor did he have a card or gift for me, as he didn't know what to get me. But now he has an idea from last nights mall trip. So we just laid around watching tv and talking.
Then my brother showed up about 30 minutes after my mom got home, with nothing. And also with no notice.
And a little while after my brother got here, when it came time to go out to eat for dinner, my mom didn't want to go. So she just had me order her and my brother some pizzas.
However, I did wear a purple tank top for my babygirl. As well as my "mama est 2008, Savannah" zip up hoodie again when we went out.
And my cousin stopped by and put a thing of roses in the front doors handle for both my mom and I at some point this morning. Which she normally does for us for birthdays and mother's day. And is very much appreciated. Especially for me, since not everyone thinks of me as a mom.
Now after watching some tv, we're going up to bed for an early appointment I have tomorrow.

Well, that might not have been a perfect way to celebrate it as you might have planned for. And maybe a bit weird. But I think that you spent some good time together, enjoyed your pizza together and that matters.

@Courtlynn Every day can be special if we have a good time with loved ones. It need not be limited to a day. You can always have some special time with her on some other day.

That's okay. It felt like another Sunday for me. Only difference, my Hulu payment got pulled from my bank account and George, my husband, came home a hour and half earlier then expected.

Your brother didn't get your money anything at all for mother's day?
I love that you sore purple for your daughter and that's personalized hoody!
That is so very sweet of your cousin to leave you and your mother roses! I will always think of you as a mom but my heart aches for you knowing what you've been through!

@Courtlynn wow that’s terrible! My husband didn’t send his mother anything either so I bought her a bird feeder and gave it to her the next time she came up.
